Do You Offer Any Special Lessons to Prepare for the Driving Test?

•     45-minute pre-test driving lesson

How do I purchase a driving lesson gift voucher?

Once on our gift voucher homepage, simply click on 'SEND A GIFT VOUCHER', complete the voucher details (sender, recipient, message etc)and make your payment. Youselect how you want the gift voucher delivered, your options are SMS, email or both. Gift vouchers are sentto the recipient instantly.

Your recipient receives their gift voucher by SMS or email and is invitedto createan account with EzLicence online. Their lesson voucher will be credited to their account upon sign in. Account creation only takes a couple of minutes.

How do I redeem a gift voucher?

When a driving lesson gift voucher is purchased, there are three different delivery options to choose from. The redemption process will depend on which option was selected. All delivery methods will contain a unique URL which will take you to the dedicated gift voucher redemption page.





Option 1 - Delivery by Email

The gift voucher will be sent via email directly to the recipient. Within the body of the email, there will be a 'redeem now' button. By simply clicking this, the learner will automatically land on a dedicated gift voucher account set up page. If the learner has an existing account, there is the option to log in from this screen.

Once the new account is created or an existing account is logged into, the lesson credits will be automatically added to the account ready to book. NB. The learner must receive the original email. If the person giving the voucher has printed the email, they will need to forward the original email to the recipient to enable them to redeem the gift voucher.





Option 2 - Delivery via SMS

The gift voucher will be sent via text message. The SMS message contains a link, once clicked, the learner will automatically land on a dedicated gift voucher account set up page. If the learner has an existing account, there is the option to log in from this screen.

Once the account is created or logged into, the lesson credits will be automatically added to the account ready to book.



Option 3 - Printed voucher (QR code)

A printed gift voucher will include a QR code (this looks like a large square barcode). To redeem the gift voucher, this code must be scanned by the QR reader app on your mobile phone. On most phones you can simply open your camera and focus it on the QR code, you will then be given the option to proceed through to the gift voucher redemption page on our website.



Once the QR code has been scanned, the learner will automatically land on the dedicated gift voucher account set up page. If the learner has an existing account, there is the option to log in from this screen.

Once the account is created or logged into, the lesson credits will be automatically added to the account ready to book.

How Many Driving Lessons Do I Need?

After your first lesson, your driving instructor will be in the best position to assess how many driving lessons you should take, based on factors such as:



•     Previous driving experience, if any

•     Confidence level

•     How quickly you appear to learn and master driving techniques

A New Driver

If you have no driving experience at all, we recommend at least 7 to 10 hours of driving lessons with an accredited driving instructor. For less confident learners, it’s not unusual to book up to 20 hours of instruction. We all learn at different speeds, and it is important to make sure you have a handle on what you’ve been taught in your driving lessons, not just for your driver’s test, but to be a safe and competent driver.

If you are a new driver but have had some driving experience – say, with a family member or friend – we recommend at least 5 to 7 hours of driving instruction to fine-tune your skills and prepare for your driving test.

International Driver’s Licence Holders

Most international driver’s licence holders book about 2 to 3 hours of driving instruction to prepare for the driver’s test here. Notably, there has been a high failure rate in this category, so we recommend starting with at least 3 to 5 hours of driving lessons before attempting the driving test.

Licenced wanting to learn how to drive a manual car

Most learners who already hold an Australian Driver's Licence, but wish to learn on a manual vehicle, will require 3 to 5 hours of driving lessons.

Please note that these ranges are a guide only and will vary from learner to learner.

Can I get the bonus logbook hours if I take lessons from an EzLicence Driving Instructor?

Taking structured driving lessons with an EzLicence instructor in NSW, QLD & ACT lets you record 3 hours of driving experience in your logbook for every 1 hour of driving instruction, up to a maximum of 30 hours recorded for 10 hours of lessons. You can, of course, continue to take driving lessons with EzLicence instructors after you have recorded the maximum allowable bonus, but each 1 hour will equal 1 hour in your logbook.

Note that if you take a driving lesson at night (i.e. between sunset and sunrise), you can only record 1 hour of night driving. The remaining 2 hours are added to your log of day driving experience hours.

In Tasmania, you’ll get 1 extra hour of credit for every hour of driving instruction, up to a maximum of 20 hours recorded for 10 hours of lessons.

STEP 1:

Enter your lesson pickup suburb and preferred transmission type (auto or manual) into the ‘Find an instructor’ tool below, then press 'SEARCH':



STEP2: 

Review theprofile detailsof the available instructorsin your area by pressing 'VIEW PROFILE'. You can can review each instructors real-time availability by selecting from the 'available dates' & 'available times' drop down menu's under the 'Book with [instructor name]' section.

STEP3: 

Once you have chosen your instructor, scheduleat least one driving lesson from their 'available dates' & 'available times'. Add additional lessons at this point or later from your personal dashboard. Press'BOOK ONLINE NOW'.

STEP4:

Enter your lesson pickup & contact details and press ‘CONTINUE’. At this point you will have created your EzLicence account and have access to your personal dashboard.

STEP5: 

Select the amount of lesson hours you wish to purchase, enter your payment details & press ‘MAKE PAYMENT’. You can simply pay for the lessons you have booked, or you can buy additional lessons at a discount and schedule them later from your dashboard.

STEP6: 

Add your learning experienceand any special requests for your driving instructor (optional) & press ‘CONFIRM LESSON’. Your lesson is now booked and confirmed. Bookings are made in real-time, your instructor has been notified and will meet you as scheduled. You have access to the instructors contact details if you wish to discuss anything prior to the lesson.
